The girls were celebrating a 12th birthday with a scary walk near “The Caves” at the chalk pit field. They were accompanied by the birthday girl’s mum, who organised the sleepover.
Gunman Fires Air Rifle from the Shadows
Suddenly, a group of men hiding in the caves blinded the girls with torches before firing shots from an air rifle. The birthday girl’s mum was hit and sustained injuries.
Police Launch Investigation, Appeal for Witnesses
Hampshire Police are treating this as an isolated incident but have launched a full investigation. A police spokesperson urged anyone with information to call 101 immediately.
