Lucky Escape For Driver after Car Leaves M27 Motorway in Southampton

A driver has escaped without serious injury after his car spun off the motorway and ended up in a hedgerow on the eastbound carriageway of the M27 this morning. The incident happened just before 7.30am near to J5 Eastleigh Airport as foul weather lashed the south’s road networks. The two door Mercedes came off the road across three lanes of the busy motorway and ended up ploughing into the grass gully and landing in a Hedge. Emergency services rushed to the scene. Officers from Hampshire Road Policing working with Highways England closed one lane of the motorway. Hampshire Fire and Rescue sent two appliances and the Rescue Support Unit from Cosham also attended but wasn’t required. South Central ambulance service sent a land ambulance. The driver of the vehicle was checked over by Paramedics at the scene. A recovery specialist from Ravenscroft was called in to winch the sky blue ml back on to the hard standing carriageway. Traffic in the area is slowing in both directions to look at the incident. https:///youtu.be/-RdgdabLN3s
