Protester takes to Roof of former Conservative Crewe MP Ed Timpson

A Protester has been on the roof of former Conservative Crewe MP Ed Timpson’s house in Tarporley for more than two days. Police have confirmed that a small number of protesters gathered at the address on Saturday morning, where the Crewe candidate lives. Two of the protesters climbed on top of Mr Timpson’s house, one has since come down and one man is still there, having been on the roof for more than 53 hours. Mr Timpson is currently Minister of State for vulnerable children and families and it is understood that the protests are in relation to a forced adoption. A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Shortly after 9am on Saturday, May 6, police were informed of a small number of protesters gathering at a residential address in Utkinton, near Tarporley. “Initially two males climbed up onto a roof of a residential premises as part of this process. “One has subsequently come down and the other remains. Officers remain at the scene in an attempt to bring the matter to a safe and peaceful resolution. His ongoing welfare is being considered as part of the police response. “The law provides for peaceful protest that allows others to go about their normal business. Where this is not complied with, appropriate action will be taken.”
