UPDATED:Meghan goes into labour with her first child

The Duchess of Sussex has gone into labour with her first child we can reveal. The labour follows weeks of speculation on when the royal baby would arrive. The pregnancy was announced in October, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex began their first major overseas tour of Australia and New Zealand, and they were expecting the baby to arrive in the spring. During a visit to Birkenhead in January, Meghan told a crowd of women during a walkabout that that the new royal was due in April. It’s unclear if Megan is at home or if she has been taken to Frimley Park hospital for the birth that’s a week over due. An ambulance was seen going into the couples royal residents this week but this is thought to have been a false alarm. Megan is understood to have gone into labour in the early hours of this morning(Monday). In a statement released , they said they were “very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the UK and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby”, but would not share more news until they have had “an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.
