Bembridge Man in Court Over Helicopter Laser Incident
Nicholas Hawkins, from Heathfield Road, Bembridge, appeared before Island magistrates on Friday. He faces a charge of shining a laser at a police helicopter.
Blinding the Pilot
Hawkins is accused of dazzling the pilot of the NPAS helicopter during a March search operation. The incident reportedly put the crew at risk as they carried out their duties.
Trial Date Set
The 41-year-old has pleaded not guilty. His trial is scheduled for 15th August 2019, where the case will be fully heard.
