A man has been hauled before court after a brazen robbery at a Herne Bay petrol station. Police were called to the King’s Road store at 9:50am on Tuesday 7 July following reports that a man swiped cigarettes.
Michael Jones Charged with Multiple Offences
Michael Jones, 29, from Guildhall Street, Folkestone, was arrested and charged with robbery. But the drama doesn’t end there. He faces further charges for stealing alcohol and cigarettes from the same petrol station just days earlier, on Friday 3 July.

Remanded in Custody
Jones appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 8 July and was remanded in custody. He is due to return to court on Monday 10 August.
