Cineworld Shuts Doors Across UK and Ireland From Friday
Cineworld has officially confirmed it will temporarily close all its cinemas across the UK and Ireland starting Friday, October 9, until further notice.
Company Praises Staff and Safety Success
The cinema giant insists this was not an easy choice. A spokesman said: “We did everything in our power to support safe and sustainable re-openings. We’re incredibly grateful to our employees who enforced new safety protocols, earning positive feedback from customers who felt safe.”
They highlighted a major win: for two months, there was not a single COVID-19 case linked to Cineworld visits.
Lobbying Government & Watching Film Releases
Cineworld vowed to keep fighting to save jobs and the business. “This is an extremely delicate balance,” the statement said. The company continues working with the Cinema Association to lobby the government for support, highlighting the industry’s cultural importance.
They are closely monitoring the situation and will announce reopening plans once major movie releases return to the big screen.
Promise to Reopen with Safety and Great Experience
Cineworld assures customers: “Once new film line-ups are confirmed, we will be ready to welcome you back with the same strict safety measures and outstanding movie experience you expect.”
The company thanked its loyal movie-loving audience. “Your health and wellbeing have been our priority. We look forward to seeing you again soon for a full slate of films.”
