Firefighters and a number of Pumping appliances and command units and High Volume pump have been scrambled this lunchtime to the online shopping warehouse in Erith we can reveal

Crews from across stations across London have now been called to the Manorway site. The blaze broke out just before 1pm on Friday after a fire broke out.  

 

A road closure has been put in place to assist with scene safety and the site is currently being evacuated, Further road closures have been put in place so water can be pumped to the incident ground.

The fire has broken out in the grid after one of the robots that pick goods for customers  caught fire and malfunctioned malfunctioned

Fifteen Fire fire appliances and  Two fire rescue units and an aerial ladder have been mobilised to the incident that is currently ongoing fire crews are experiencing issues as they are unable to isolate the grid or access the robots that are on fire.

 

 

 

A blaze ripped through a sister site in Andover and left the location totally gutted.

Fire crews are likely to spend a number of hours tackling the blaze and attempting to bring the blaze under control.

Crews are tackling a fire on the second floor of a three-storey warehouse.

Station Commander Steve Vydelingum said:

Firefighters are working hard in hot and arduous conditions inside the warehouse. Around 250 staff evacuated before the Brigade arrived. There are no reports of any injuries.”

The Brigade was called at 1242pm. Fire crews from Bexley, Plumstead, Millwall, Lee Green, Greenwich, Eltham and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.

The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
