Missing Man Derek Vanishes Near Summertown Two Weeks Ago

Derek was last spotted on Saturday, 24 July at around 3pm near St Anne’s Annexe, South Parade, Summertown. Were you in the area that day? Have you been there since?

He was wearing a navy/black polo shirt, black cargo trousers, and a fluorescent jacket when last seen. Photos of his jacket have been released.

Family Pleads for Help in Finding Derek

Derek’s niece, Sadie, made a heartfelt appeal: “With the community in Summertown and Kidlington knowing Derek so well, we as a very worried family are urging the public to come forward with any sightings over the past two weeks. We need to get Derek home safely and back to St Anne’s College where he most loves to be!”

Police Continue Intensive Search Efforts

Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Glister of Cherwell & West Oxfordshire confirmed:

“It has now been two weeks since Derek was last seen on Saturday 24 July. Officers are continuing with extensive searches of the local area, including waterways. I want to thank Oxfordshire Lowland Search and Rescue for their ongoing help.”

“Thank you to everyone who has passed on information so far. No detail is too small — it could be crucial to our investigation.”

“It’s possible Derek has been sleeping outdoors and may appear unkempt. He is known to help with litter picking locally, so please keep an eye out if you spot anyone matching his description doing this in Kidlington, Summertown, or nearby.”

“Please check CCTV, dashcams, cars, sheds, outhouses, gardens, or any potential shelters he may have used overnight.”

If you spot Derek or have any information, call 101 immediately quoting reference 43210328398. Any earlier sightings should also be reported.
