Tragic Death After Woman Falls from M4 Overbridge
Emergency services were called just after 5.30am following a fatal incident on the M4 near Wroughton. A 19-year-old woman fell from an overbridge between junctions 15 and 16 and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family Supported as Investigation Underway
Her family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers. Police say the case is not currently being treated as suspicious.
M4 Partially Closed – Drivers Asked to Help
The M4 was shut in both directions, alongside Croft Road in Wroughton. While Croft Road and the eastbound side of the motorway have reopened, the westbound carriageway remains closed and is expected to stay shut for some time. Drivers are urged to follow diversions.
Dash Cam Footage Needed
Officers are appealing urgently for anyone who was driving westbound on the M4 between 5.15am and 5.30am and may have seen anything or caught it on dash cam to come forward.
