A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on the evening of Saturday, 28 May. He remains in police custody.
Detectives are continuing their investigation after receiving a report of a disturbance on Ballards Lane, N12 at 4.05am on Friday, 27 May.
Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and found a man with a neck injury.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene.
The man has been identified as 55-year-old Nicholas Sutin. A post-mortem examination carried out at Northwick Park Hospital Mortuary on Saturday, 28 May gave the cause of death as head injuries and a stab wound to the neck.
A 40-year-old man was earlier arrested on suspicion of murder. He has since been bailed to a date in late June.
Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our investigation into Nicholas’ death is continuing at pace and officers are working around the clock to establish exactly what happened.
“My team continue to work in the area to identify anyone who may have seen or heard anything which will assist the investigation. Officers have already spoken to several witnesses but I would encourage anyone else with information to contact us immediately.”
