A Suspect Has Been Charged With Attempted Murder After Officers Responded Quickly To Reports Of An Assault On A Woman

 

Just after 10 a.m. on Monday, police were called to an address on Loughborough Road in West Bridgford (25 July 2022).

The victim was taken to the hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition.

At the scene, a man was arrested.

Laurence Griffiths, 41, of Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, is scheduled to appear in Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday, July 27) on a charge of attempted murder.

Detectives are continuing their investigation, which includes reviewing CCTV footage and conducting house-to-house inquiries, and they are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Our investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding this incident remains ongoing,” said Detective Inspector Nick Hall of Nottinghamshire Police.

“I’d like to reassure local residents that we have increased patrols in the area as we investigate multiple lines of inquiry, and anyone who is concerned can approach them.”

While we have charged a suspect, we are urging anyone who witnessed what happened to contact us as soon as possible.

“We’d also like to hear from anyone in the area who may have captured CCTV or dash-cam footage that can help us with our investigations.”
