Authorities in Broxburn are urging the public to come forward with any information regarding a recent incident in which a parked black Audi was deliberately set ablaze in the Curran Crescent area. The incident occurred at approximately 00.35 BST on Saturday, August 5, resulting in extensive damage not only to the targeted vehicle but also to neighbouring cars.
Though no individuals sustained injuries in the incident, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were swiftly dispatched to extinguish the flames, which had consumed the Audi and threatened nearby vehicles.
Detective Constable Matt Morran, a member of West Lothian’s Criminal Investigation Department, expressed concern over the financial repercussions faced by the vehicle owners and the distress experienced by the local residents as a result of this act. He emphasised that cooperation from the community is pivotal in resolving the incident and preventing further harm.
“I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time or who may have private CCTV or dash-cam footage that could assist with our enquiries to get in touch,” Detective Constable Morran stated.
