The A12 in Essex is closed northbound between J12 (Mountnessing) and J14 (Margaretting) due to a blocked water pipe running adjacent to the carriageway. As a result, there is a significant amount of water running onto the carriageway. Our specialist contractors are on scene, however it is anticipated that the road is likely to remain closed overnight while work to resolve the issue is ongoing. It is also likely that the road surface will also need to be treated before we can open the carriageway due to the freezing temperatures.
Diversion route:
- Exit the A12 at J12 Marylands and take the B1002 to Mountnessing.
- Continue on the B1002 through Mountnessing, Heybridge, Ingatestone and Margaretting to rejoin A12 northbound at Junction 15 Webbs Farm.
Traffic travelling from further afield may wish to use the M11 northbound as an alternative route.
