Midnight Taxi Robbery Shakes Canvey Island!
Just before midnight last night, a taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint in a shocking hold-up at a Long Road service station.
Two Arrested After Armed Taxi Robbery
Police rushed to the scene after reports of the terrifying robbery. Victim escaped unharmed but left visibly shaken. Two men – aged 20 and 25, both from Canvey Island – were arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in custody.
Police Reassure Community Amid Investigation
Chief Inspector Daniel McHugh said: “Incidents like this are extremely rare but I can reassure residents that we have multiple teams working on this investigation.”
“We don’t believe there is any wider risk to the community. Specialists and search officers will be patrolling the area today to continue enquiries.”
“Anyone with information is urged to come forward and help with the investigation.”
