Police have closed an entrance to Cobden Avenue from Peel Avenue in Wirral amid an ongoing incident which has prompted concern among residents.

A local social media post reported that the entrance had been closed by police, with people in the area asking what had happened.

One resident claimed they had been told somebody had been attacked, although this has not been confirmed by police and the circumstances of the incident remain unclear.

Another person said a family member had spoken to officers at the scene and was told police were waiting for detectives to arrive, but that no further information was being provided.
