Man Found Seriously Injured Outside Iceland on Canvey Island

A man in his 40s was discovered seriously injured in the car park of the Iceland store on Furtherwick Road, Canvey Island, just before 1:45 a.m. on Sunday.

Police Investigation Underway – No Threat to Public

Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood said the investigation is progressing well. He reassured the public there is no current risk to anyone else.

“I believe the attack was targeted, and this incident poses no threat to the general public,” said Det Ch Insp Wood.

Special Tip-Off Portal Opens as Detectives Seek Witnesses

Officers have launched a dedicated online portal for anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Several witnesses have already contacted police.

“I want to thank those who have come forward. But I still urge anyone who saw something or knows anything to get in touch,” Det Ch Insp Wood said.

Suspects Linked to The Haystack Pub on Canvey Island

Det Chief Insp Wood believes those involved were inside The Haystack pub earlier that evening and that locals or pubgoers may know who they are.

“If you were at the pub or live nearby, please contact us or Crimestoppers with any information,” he added.

Police remain at the scene today and thanked the public for their patience and cooperation.
