Top-Secret Files Spark Shockwaves
The stolen files exposed America’s deep doubts about Ukraine’s chances against Russia’s invasion. They also revealed that the US has been spying on close allies like Israel and South Korea.
Teixeira faced court in a beige jumpsuit, looking downcast as he was charged with “unauthorised retention and transmission of national defence information” plus “unauthorised removal and retention of classified documents.” Both could land him up to ten years behind bars.

According to the Washington Post, he hails from a military family, with his dad serving 34 years in the same unit. His mother supports veterans through charities. Friends describe Teixeira as a devout Catholic and libertarian who has a keen interest in firearms.
Secret Disclosures on Discord Spark Nationwide Fallout
Investigations reveal Teixeira allegedly posted the documents on a private Discord server called “Thug Shaker Central” under the username “OG.” The FBI affidavit states he initially typed out secret information, then escalated to sharing photos, warning others to keep quiet. But eventually, the leaks spread far and wide across Twitter, 4Chan, and Telegram.
This leak dwarfs others since Edward Snowden’s 2013 disgrace. US Attorney General Merrick Garland confirmed Teixeira’s arrest “in connection with an investigation into alleged unauthorised removal, retention, and transmission of classified national defence information.”
