Man Charged After Brutal Attack on 71-Year-Old Woman in Worcester

A 71-year-old woman is fighting for her life after a vicious assault in Worcester city centre.
Suspect Held and Charged
Anthony Roberts, 56, from Amber Heights, Green Hill, has been charged with attempted murder, sexual assault, and carrying a bladed article in public.
Police Action and Court Appearance
Roberts was arrested and remains in police custody. He is set to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court today (Monday 8 May).
Victim in Critical Condition
Officers responded just after 2am on Sunday to Kleve Walk, where the elderly victim was found seriously injured. She is currently in critical condition in hospital.
