Tragic Death of 20-Year-Old Sparks Wigan Murder Probe
Police in Wigan are hunting witnesses after a 20-year-old man died suspiciously at a property on Ince Green Lane. The shocking incident happened on the evening of Monday, September 11, 2023.
Emergency Services Responded But Victim Couldn’t Be Saved
Officers and North West Ambulance Service rushed to the scene at around 6.30pm BST. Despite their best efforts, the young man was pronounced dead.
Three Suspects in Custody as Investigation Unfolds
Detective Superintendent Simon Hurst from Greater Manchester Police’s Wigan Division is leading the inquiry. He confirmed, “We are diligently investigating this tragic incident. At this early stage, three people are in custody and cooperating with our enquiries.”
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Video Footage
The investigation is in its infancy, and officers want anyone near Ince Green Lane on that day to come forward. Detective Superintendent Hurst urged, “If you saw anything suspicious or have CCTV, dashcam, or Ring doorbell footage, please get in touch.”
