Paedophile Mark Crossley Jailed for 15 Years in Rochdale Abuse Case
Mark Crossley, 28, from Middleton, was slammed with a 15-year prison sentence at Minshull Street Crown Court on October 4, 2023. He pleaded guilty to 14 horrifying child sex offences against two children in Rochdale, crimes that stretched from 2013 to 2020.
Disturbing Abuse in Trusted Setting
Crossley’s vile behaviour happened during visits to the home of someone trusted by the victims. He carried out disgusting acts on the young children, sometimes rewarding them to confuse and control them further. The victims were too young and scared to speak out at the time. Only later did they find the strength to reveal the full horror of what happened.
Police Praise Victims’ Bravery as Justice Served
The case sparked an urgent probe by Greater Manchester Police. Detective Constable Elizabeth Stacey from GMP’s Child Sexual Exploitation team paid tribute to the victims’ courage, saying:
“Hopefully the sentencing of Crossley means they can start their own healing process from the memories and experiences they faced at such a young age. Hopefully, they can take some comfort he cannot commit these offences again whilst behind bars.”
Greater Manchester Police Vow to Protect Children
Even with Crossley behind bars, Greater Manchester Police and their specialist teams remain relentless in hunting down offenders and safeguarding children. Their ongoing efforts aim to prevent such abuse and keep the community safe.
