Senior Tory Aide Suspended Over Shocking Jimmy Savile Halloween Video
Daniel Sydenham, senior parliamentary assistant to Conservative MP Paul Holmes, has been suspended after a disturbing Halloween party video surfaced. The clip shows Sydenham dressed as disgraced TV presenter Jimmy Savile, engaging in wildly inappropriate behaviour with an inflatable doll.
Disturbing Footage Sparks Outrage
The video, first reported by Scotland’s The National, captures Sydenham rocking a brightly coloured shell suit and tinted glasses — eerily echoing Savile’s infamous look. Sydenham is seen simulating a sexual act on the doll while grinning at the camera. The caption bluntly reads, “Jim fixed it for me,” alongside a tag linking to Sydenham’s social media.
MP Paul Holmes Hits Back: “I Do Not Condone This”
MP Paul Holmes acted swiftly, saying, “I have suspended the individual concerned while an investigation takes place. I in no way condone or tolerate the actions of the individual.” He is now liaising with Parliament’s human resources department to handle the fallout.
Controversy Ignites Debate Over Savile Legacy
Sydenham joined Holmes’s team in October last year, after roles with the Conservative Party and various Tory MPs. The incident has sparked fierce debate, given Jimmy Savile’s dark past as one of Britain’s most notorious sexual predators. Savile’s crimes, revealed after his death in 2011, prompted the Metropolitan Police to launch Operation Yewtree—a major investigation into historic sexual abuse.
