Chigwell Hit-and-Run: Woman and Dogs Killed
Detectives are hunting for witnesses after a tragic hit-and-run in Chigwell left a 48-year-old woman dead.
Fatal Crash on Manford Way
Emergency services were called to Manford Way at 5.09pm on Friday, 22 December. A white Seat Leon is believed to have struck a woman walking with two dogs.
Despite the efforts of police, one ambulance crew, and London’s Air Ambulance, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The poor dogs also did not survive.
“The family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers,” police said.
Driver Flees, Police Launch Manhunt
The driver sped off without stopping. Police found the Seat Leon nearby but have yet to arrest anyone. Investigations are ongoing to trace the vehicle’s registered owner.
