In a tragic incident on New Year’s Eve, 16-year-old Harry Pitman lost his life after an altercation on Primrose Hill, north London. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that a 16-year-old boy, initially arrested on suspicion of murder, has now been released on bail as the investigation continues.
The incident occurred around 23.40 GMT while Harry was celebrating the New Year with friends. Detectives believe that Harry became involved in the altercation, resulting in the fatal outcome.
Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Grogan, leading the investigation, expressed condolences to Harry’s family and friends, acknowledging the immense loss they are facing. He highlighted the tragedy of a young life cut short and emphasised the ongoing support provided to the grieving family by specially trained officers.
The investigation team is urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information about the altercation leading to Harry’s tragic death to come forward immediately. Detective Chief Inspector Grogan emphasised the importance of building a comprehensive understanding of the events surrounding the incident.
