Eyewitnesses Spot Disturbing Behaviour
Residents witnessed the boy stroking the horse before lifting its tail and penetrating it with his arm. One local woman described the teenager “skipping between the horses” and “lifting their tails,” behaviour she found highly suspicious and alarming. She quickly alerted her partner and confronted the youth, who then fled through a fence.
She recalled, “I said to my partner, ‘There’s somebody in the mare’s field.’ He was moving quickly between several of the horses and lifting their tails up. It just seemed like a peculiar thing to be doing.”
Denied Charges, Found Guilty at North Shields Youth Court
The boy denied any wrongdoing, claiming he only entered the field to stroke the horses. However, during the trial at North Tyneside Youth Court in North Shields, the evidence told a different story.
