Man jailed after attack on young woman

A man from Louth who attacked a woman in her 20s earlier this year has been sentenced to 18 months in prison following an investigation by East Lindsey Response Investigation Team (RIT).

Police received reports earlier this year that a man had punched a woman several times during the evening of 16 February into the early hours of 17 February in Louth, causing multiple bruises to the victim.  East Lindsey RIT promptly took ownership of the investigation, gathering key evidence and diligently pursuing lines of enquiry.

Charlie Bradbury, 28, of Burghley Crescent, Louth was identified as a suspect. He was subsequently arrested and charged with Actual Bodily Harm (ABH).

This week, Bradbury was convicted and sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court, after pleading guilty to the offence. He has also received a five-year restraining order.

DI Mike Wilding said: “Offences of this nature are wholly unacceptable. We are committed to tackling violence and domestic abuse, and our RIT division is pivotal in gathering the essential evidence required to bring these offenders to justice.  By effectively and robustly tackling this form of criminality, RIT, and all the Force, are striving to protect all those who live, work and visit our county.“
