Fire at Former Russian Electronics Research Institute Near Moscow Claims Lives

A devastating fire broke out at a former Russian electronics research institute in the town of Fryazino, near Moscow, resulting in the loss of at least eight lives. The incident, which unfolded on the eight-storey building’s premises, has left the community in shock and mourning.

According to state news agency TASS, the inferno consumed the entire structure, forcing desperate individuals to leap from the top floors in a desperate bid to escape the flames. Tragically, two people lost their lives in this harrowing manner.

The cause of the fire remains shrouded in mystery. Authorities are yet to determine what sparked the deadly blaze. Regional governor Andrey Vorobyov confirmed that a 34-year-old man is in critical condition at a local hospital, while two firefighters are receiving treatment for injuries sustained during their valiant efforts to control the fire.

Over 100 firefighters are currently on the scene, battling the raging flames. Remarkably, only one person was rescued from the building, highlighting the severity of the situation.

The institute, once a hub of cutting-edge research, specialized in creating components for fighter jets, nuclear launch munitions, air defences, and guided munitions.
