Met Police and Prison Service Team Up After Stunning Escape
Gomm made a break for it on July 18 while at Hammersmith Hospital for treatment. Officers from the Metropolitan Police Service quickly joined forces with HM Prison Service to hunt him down.
Caught in Putney: Police Snap Up Fugitive at Dawn
The manhunt ended in Putney at around 8:30am on July 20. Gomm was arrested without incident and is now back behind bars.

“The safety and security of our facilities and the public are of utmost importance. We will continue working with our partners to understand how this incident occurred and prevent similar events in the future,” stated an HM Prison Service representative.
