A close-knit community of firefighters faced a profound tragedy last Wednesday morning when they rushed to the scene of a fatal crash, only to discover the victim was 21-year-old colleague Glenn Campbell. The young firefighter perished in a collision involving his motorcycle and a tanker near the villages of Drem and Dirleton in East Lothian.

Glenn Campbell, who was riding a green Kawasaki ZX 900E1, collided with a red Scania tanker around 7:45 AM. Despite immediate response efforts, Campbell was declared dead at the scene, while the tanker driver sustained no injuries. I was one of them until Glenn Campbell came into my life,” she stated, expressing her profound sense of loss.
