A nurse in her 50s has been left with life-changing injuries after being stabbed in the A&E department of Royal Oldham Hospital.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody.

- The attack took place at about 11:30 PM on Saturday, 11 January inside the Accident & Emergency department.
- Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the attacker used a sharp instrument, though it was not a knife.
- The nurse remains in hospital receiving treatment for her serious injuries.
