Man with Possible Weapon Sparks Police Hunt in Manchester
Police are on high alert after reports of a suspicious man roaming Manchester city centre on Tuesday night. The incident has ramped up police presence around the busy Deansgate area.
Suspicious Activity Caught on Camera
Two separate calls came in at around 9:20pm reporting a suspicious individual near Deansgate. Witnesses feared he might be armed, but no threats were made to the public.
Tracked Route Through the City
Officers tracked the man’s movements from The Arndale, past the Royal Exchange Theatre, along Cross Street to Albert Square, before moving down Deansgate.
Police Boost Patrols for Public Safety
Detective Inspector John Lowe from Greater Manchester Police’s City Centre Criminal Investigation team said:
“Our top priority is public safety. We’ve deployed extra officers citywide to find this individual. No direct threats were made, but we’re taking no chances.”

Police have released CCTV footage and photos focusing on the suspect’s clothing. They’re asking the public to help identify him while staying safe.
