Three Sisters and Friend Jailed for Vicious Attack in Scarborough

 

Three sisters and their friend have been sentenced for a brutal and unprovoked attack on a woman in Scarborough that left her with life-changing injuries.

Sentences Handed Down

The four attackers, who launched a vicious assault in the early hours of October 28, 2023, have now faced justice:

  • Toni Lee Patterson, 32, of Cross Streetjailed for eight years
  • Ellie Patterson, 20, of Springhill Roadsentenced to seven years and three months in a Young Offenders Institution
  • Abbie Patterson, 19, also of Springhill Roadreceived a suspended sentence
  • Tania Louise Stott, 35, also of Cross Streetjailed for one year

Brutal Attack on Innocent Victim

The victim, a woman in her 50s, was enjoying a night out in Scarborough when she was set upon by the four women.

She was punched, kicked, and beaten unconscious in an attack described in court as savage and relentless.

Judge Condemns the Attack

During sentencing, the judge strongly condemned the unprovoked assault, highlighting the lasting physical and emotional impact on the victim.

“This was a cowardly and sustained attack on a defenceless woman who had done nothing to provoke such violence,” the judge said.

Police Statement

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson added:

“This was a shocking and vicious attack that has left the victim with lasting injuries. Violence of this nature will not be tolerated, and we hope these sentences serve as a warning to others.”

The victim continues to receive medical treatment for her injuries, and authorities have urged anyone who witnesses similar violent incidents to report them immediately.
