Police Launch Urgent Appeal After Serious Sexual Assault in Horley
Surrey Police are urgently hunting for witnesses following a serious sexual assault at Horley Recreation Ground on Monday, 26 May 2025.
Man Arrested, Victim Receiving Specialist Support
Officers raced to the park at 4:50pm after concerns were raised for a woman’s safety. A man in his 30s was swiftly arrested on suspicion of rape and is currently in police custody. The victim is being cared for by specialist officers.
Police Seek Witnesses and Any Footage
Police want to speak to anyone who was near Horley Recreation Ground between 4:30pm and 4:50pm on that day. They are especially eager to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious during that timeframe.
“We’re particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious during this time,” said a Surrey Police spokesperson.
