One Week On: Police Renew Appeal After Officer Critically Injured in Stoke Poges Hit-and-Run

One week after a police officer was left fighting for his life in a serious road traffic collision, Thames Valley Police has renewed its appeal for information and footage from the night of the incident.

PC Christopher Miller, a serving officer with the Roads Policing Unit, remains in a critical condition in hospital after being struck by a white BMW while on duty on Bells Hill, B416, at approximately 10:20pm on Thursday, 22 May.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Superintendent Will Crowther, confirmed that officers returned to the scene last night to speak with motorists in the hope of jogging memories or uncovering new witnesses.

“We spoke to drivers on Bells Hill exactly one week after the collision. Our appeal continues, and we urge anyone who may have seen the white BMW before or after the incident — or has dashcam or CCTV footage — to come forward,” said Det Supt Crowther.

“The BMW involved would have been visibly damaged. Any sightings of this vehicle or unusual activity in the area that evening could be vital.”

Four Arrests, One Man Charged with Attempted Murder

The investigation has resulted in multiple arrests:

• Simranjit Kajla, 28, of Lydford Avenue, Slough, has been charged with:

  • Attempted murder

  • Causing serious injury by dangerous driving

  • Driving while disqualified

  • Driving without insurance
    He appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on 27 May and has been remanded in custody to appear at Reading Crown Court on 23 June.

Other arrests include:

• A 38-year-old man from Slough: Arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Released on bail until 23 August.

• A 43-year-old man from Slough: Arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice. Released under investigation.

• A 37-year-old woman from Slough: Arrested on similar charges. Bailed until 25 August.
