Violent Clash Erupts in Havant After Shocking Arrest

Chaos broke out last night in Havant as hundreds of furious locals confronted armed police following the arrest of a 38-year-old man suspected of sexual communications with a child.

Riot Flares During High-Tension Police Operation

The suspect was nabbed in a pre-planned raid on Middle Park Way by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary. Videos from the scene show officers holding riot shields while crowds shout “paedo!” and “protect the kids!” as a police van tried to leave the volatile area.

Bricks and Projectiles Thrown at Police

Tempers boiled over when the crowd surrounded the police vehicle. Some threw bricks and other objects as officers hastily formed defensive barricades. The unrest reportedly followed a confrontation between the suspect and an online vigilante group, often called “paedo-hunters,” who confronted him before police arrived.

“It’s 123 doing so will be reported and dealt with robustly,” the vigilante group said in a statement.

They warned such actions could lead to authorities shutting down their groups and urged the public not to interfere with sting operations.

Police Confirm Arrest as Investigation Continues

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed the suspect remains in custody. A force spokesperson said:

“Officers have arrested a 38-year-old man from Havant on suspicion of engaging in sexual communications with a child. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

The man’s identity has not been released. No injuries to officers have been reported, and it is unclear whether any members of the public were hurt during the disorder.
