Dylan Hampson, 28, homeless and desperate, was slapped with an eight-month prison sentence after a shocking spree at Sainsbury’s stores on Goring Road and Littlehampton Road between 7 and 18 September 2025. Despite a strict Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) handed down on 1 September banning him from all Co-op and Sainsbury’s locations across Sussex, Hampson brazenly strolled back in. CCTV caught him red-handed lifting 16 packs of meat in one audacious raid.
Career Criminal’s Long Rap Sheet Finally Catches Up
At Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 26 September, Hampson pleaded guilty to eight fresh theft charges plus five breaches of his CBO. With 23 convictions and 65 offences mainly for theft on his record, he’s been a thorn in the side of local retailers and shoppers for years.

Sussex Police have vowed to slam the door shut on repeat offenders and protect businesses from ongoing misery.
