An emergency has brought train services to a standstill between Bournemouth and Brockenhurst tonight. All lines are currently blocked, leaving several trains stranded in the affected area. Passengers face delays and cancellations as emergency crews battle the incident.

Tragic Death Confirmed

The tragedy unfolded when a 16-year-old girl from Christchurch was hit by a train after reportedly jumping onto the tracks near Pokesdown station. A British Transport Police spokesman said:

“At 8.44pm officers were called to Pokesdown station after reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended. Sadly, the girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed.”

The rail line is expected to remain closed for the rest of the evening as police continue their investigations.
