Tragic Crash Near Winchester Kills Two Young Men

Two young men died in a horror single-vehicle crash near Winchester on Thursday morning. Luke Gething, 20, from Bentley, and 22-year-old Thomas Matthew Price from Alton lost their lives after their blue Ford Fiesta smashed into a tree just east of St Swithun’s School.

Crash Details: Early Morning Horror on Alresford Road

Emergency services were called to the scene at 6.30am on the B3404 Alresford Road. The car was heading towards Winchester when it veered off the road and slammed into a tree one mile from the school. Both men were in the vehicle and died instantly at the scene.

Heartbroken Families Pay Tribute

“Tom was sadly taken from us far too soon. He loved life and lived it to the fullest,” said Mr Price’s family. “His death has left us devastated. He leaves behind a fiancée and two beautiful sons, Thomas and Peter, whom he adored. We thank everyone for their kind words and support.”

Mr Gething’s family added: “Luke was a deeply loved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was kind, loving, caring, and hilarious. He overcame many hurdles and was a remarkable young lad. Luke will be forever missed and never forgotten.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage

Officers suspect the vehicle had previously stopped at the BP and Marks & Spencer filling station on the A31 at Four Marks before continuing towards Winchester. Police are urgently appealing for anyone who saw the vehicle driving in the area or witnessed the crash to come forward.

They especially request any dash cam footage from motorists who were near the scene. Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 44190142001.
