Kidderminster Woman Jailed Over Cocaine Conspiracy as Partner and Three Men Nabbed
Sinead Lavelle Sentenced for Cocaine Plot
Sinead Lavelle, 34, from Offmore Road, Kidderminster, was found guilty last December of conspiring to supply cocaine after a four-week trial. On Friday 10 June, she was sentenced at Hereford Crown Court.
Partner and Three Men Locked Up for Over 26 Years
Alongside Lavelle, four men—including her partner Gareth Pegler of Saxon Way, Wychbold—were convicted of drug-related offences. The gang, which also included Mighele Massey (Stourbridge Road, Dudley), Karl Browning (Hurcott Road, Kidderminster), and Darren Pegler (Coronation Way, Kidderminster), received over 26 years behind bars combined.
Judge Slams Lavelle for Turning Blind Eye
His Honour Judge Martin Jackson condemned Lavelle for knowingly aiding the operation. “You stayed and rekindled a relationship with a partner who is a professional criminal, so there has to be a price to pay,” he told her.
Though Lavelle claimed ignorance, the judge noted she helped collect drugs, pay associates, and was present during drug runs—even when her children were nearby.
“Wives and partners frequently try to hide behind the relationship, claiming ignorance in order to avoid prosecution, as Sinead Lavelle did in this case. She helped with the business and reaped the benefits of both the profits and the lifestyle.”
Her sentence has left her children with both parents behind bars.
Police Issue Stark Warning
“Anyone involved in criminality or turning a blind eye to profit from it will be thoroughly pursued by West Mercia Police,” the judge added. “Think carefully before you risk it.”
