Terror Suspect Arrested in Caddington Raid

A 31-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, 14 May, after Bedfordshire Police launched a terror probe at a Caddington home. The investigation began on 6 May when suspicious substances were found during a search of the address.

Met’s Counter Terrorism Command Takes Over

Following 123 searches at the property, the case was handed to the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command. The suspect faces charges under section 57 of the Terrorism Act 2000 for possession of items linked to terrorist purposes. He remains in police custody.

Specialist Officers Still on Site

Expert teams are combing through the Caddington property, securing and safely removing multiple recovered items and substances. Authorities have confirmed there is no current risk to nearby residents or the public.

Joint Operation with Bedfordshire Police and ERSOU

Officers continue to cooperate closely with Bedfordshire Police and the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) as the investigation goes on. No further arrests have been announced.
