Drink-Fuelled Pub Brawl Leaves Man Unconscious in Newark
A violent late-night fight erupted outside a Newark pub, leaving a man battered and unconscious in the street. Silas Briggs-Price, 22, sparked the chaos moments after leaving the Barnby Gate pub.
Pub Fight Turns Ugly at Closing Time
As the Barnby Gate closed, Briggs-Price confronted a couple outside. He got right in their faces, jumping up and down aggressively.
When the pair tried to leave, Briggs-Price followed, shouting, “Do you know who I am?”
Brutal Attack Leaves Victim Hospitalised
Without warning, Briggs-Price landed a knockout punch on the man, who collapsed unconscious. Not done, Briggs-Price launched a savage running kick to the man’s head, causing multiple facial fractures.
He then turned on the woman before tearing off his shirt and storming through the town centre, topless and furious.
CCTV Footage Leads to Arrest and Jail
Police soon found the shirtless attacker wandering the streets and arrested him. Initially denying the attack, Briggs-Price was forced to confess after CCTV evidence piled up.
He admitted to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and assault. Briggs-Price now faces four years behind bars.
