Child Dies After Hospital Dash in Quiet Forest Hill Street

A child tragically died after an incident on a typically calm residential road in Forest Hill, southeast London.

The emergency unfolded around 12:10pm on Sunday, 18 May 2025, on Wynell Road, near Mayow Road.

Emergency Crews Rush In

London Ambulance Service (LAS) and London’s Air Ambulance were scrambled after reports of an injured child.

An LAS spokesperson said:

“We were called at 12.11pm on Sunday 18 May to reports of an incident in Wynell Road, SE23. We sent ambulance crews, an incident response officer, and London’s air ambulance. We treated a child at the scene and took them to hospital. Sadly, despite our efforts, they died.”

Investigation Underway as Community Mourns

The cause of the incident remains unclear. The Metropolitan Police have been contacted and are expected to release a statement soon.
