Teenagers in Trouble: Coastguards Race to Rough Ventnor Seafront Rescue
Two teenagers hit trouble swimming off Ventnor seafront on Sunday evening, sparking a dramatic rescue mission. The Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team (CRT) was scrambled just after 6.35pm following an urgent call about the youngsters trapped in the choppy waters.
Rough Seas Spark Alarm
A local eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “There were kids swimming in the sea while I was there. The water was quite rough.” The dangerous conditions clearly put the teens at risk.
Brave Bystander Dives In
Despite the rough waters, a quick-thinking member of the public plunged in to help. Their timely action brought the two teenagers safely ashore before the Coastguard team even arrived.
Emergency Services on Scene
The Ventnor CRT arrived swiftly and called in the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service for medical support. Both teenagers were taken to St Mary’s Hospital for precautionary checks.
