False Alarm: It Was Just Yellow Paint
After a detailed check, the Coastguard confirmed the container held yellow marine paint—no hazardous chemicals were found. The scare highlighted the public’s vigilance and the quick action of emergency services in protecting the coastline.
“Newhaven Coastguard Rescue Team removed a container of yellow marine paint from the shoreline this morning and deposited it safely for collection by the local authority,” said HM Coastguard.
