Man Found Dead on Newport Street Sparks Police Probe

Tragedy hit Newport last Tuesday evening when a 36-year-old man was found unresponsive on Chepstow Road. Emergency crews, including Gwent Police and Welsh Ambulance paramedics, rushed to the scene around 6pm but could not save him.

Crime Scene Lockdown and Investigation Underway

Police quickly shut down Chepstow Road by 6:38pm to launch a full investigation. Later, an “air exclusion zone” was established to ban drones from the area, aiding the forensic work. Authorities have informed the man’s family, who are receiving specialist support in their grief.

“We are committed to uncovering the truth behind this tragic event,” said Chief Superintendent Matthew Williams. “We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
