Man Stabbed and Robbed in Croydon – Police Release Image of Suspect
Detectives are hunting for a man after a 22-year-old was stabbed and robbed in Croydon. The victim was attacked after being forced from his car in a terrifying ordeal.
Victim Held at Knife Point and Forced to Withdraw Cash
The incident took place between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Monday, 18 June. The victim was parked outside shops on Woodville Road when two men approached him. After a brief chat, they shoved their way into his car, pushing him into the passenger seat.
The suspects drove him to a cash machine at a corner shop on Beulah Road. There, the terrified man was forced to withdraw money before they returned to Woodville Road.
Stabbing During Violent Struggle
Spying the victim’s friends nearby, he jumped out of the car and ran over to them. But the two suspects followed and broke into the second vehicle, sparking a fight. During the struggle, the victim was stabbed in the leg.
The attackers fled the scene, leaving the victim’s pals to rush him to Croydon University Hospital, where officers spotted him on Wednesday during an unrelated visit.
Police Seek 21-Year-Old Leonard Knowles
Police want to speak to 21-year-old Leonard Knowles from the local area in connection with the attack. The public is warned not to approach him but to contact police via 101 quoting reference CAD6650/18JUN.
