Murder Probe Launched After Man Found Brutally Attacked in Glasgow

Police have opened a murder investigation after 35-year-old Michael Beaton was discovered with serious injuries on Drumfrochar Road on the evening of Sunday, November 26, 2023. Despite being rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, he tragically died hours later.

Shocking Violence Caught on Drumfrochar Road

Initial police inquiries suggest Beaton was hit by a light-coloured vehicle before being stabbed with a bladed weapon. Detective Chief Inspector Lynsey Watters, head of the Major Investigations Team (West), stressed the attack was not random.

“This was an extremely violent attack which has shocked the local community and caused disruption to their daily routines while we carry out our forensic enquiries. I’d like to assure the people living in the area that we are doing everything we can to trace the person or persons responsible for this shocking incident, and that there will be an increased police presence in the area.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Detectives are urging anyone who saw the attack or noticed suspicious vehicles or individuals near Drumfrochar Road to come forward immediately. Residents are also asked to check dashcam and doorbell camera footage for clues.
