12-Year-Old Boy Killed After Crash with Bus in Bordesley Green

A 12-year-old boy has tragically died after colliding with a bus while riding an e-scooter in Bordesley Green yesterday morning. Emergency services pronounced him dead at the scene.

E-Scooter Firm Voi Cooperates with Police Investigation

Voi, the e-scooter rental company, confirmed it is working closely with West Midlands Police following the fatal crash. The firm expressed shock and extended condolences to the boy’s family.

“Our thoughts are first and foremost with the deceased’s family and friends. The news of this tragic accident has deeply shocked us,” a Voi spokesperson said.

“We’re providing police with all the information they need and fully support the ongoing investigation.”

Police Appeal for Witnesses as Investigation Continues

Detective Sergeant Dean Caswell from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said the family is being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time. He urged anyone who witnessed the crash, was on the bus, or has dashcam footage to come forward.

“Our thoughts are with Mustafa’s family. We are continuing to speak with witnesses as part of our investigation and would like to hear from anyone who can help,” said DS Caswell.

A Birmingham City Council spokesperson added: “During this difficult time, our thoughts are with the boy’s family and friends. We cannot comment further as police continue their investigation and appeal for witnesses.”
