Paraglider Plunge Sparks Dramatic Worthing Pier Rescue
Chaos broke out near Worthing Pier this morning when a paraglider got into trouble mid-air. The Shoreham RNLI all-weather lifeboat and Littlehampton Lifeboat were scrambled fast to the scene.
Brave Bystanders Dive In to Help
Before the emergency crews arrived, several heroic members of the public didn’t hesitate to jump into the water and aid the stranded paraglider. Their swift action helped stabilise the casualty until professional rescuers took over.
Luckily, a passing vessel and the Shoreham coastguard team were already nearby. Together with the Littlehampton lifeboat crew, they worked quickly to attend to those in distress. The lifeboats remained on standby, ready to assist if needed.
RNLI Lifeboat Open for Easter Day Tours
With the drama concluded, the Shoreham all-weather lifeboat returned to base and is now open for public tours in today’s Easter open day until 4pm. Visitors are invited to discover more about the brave RNLI crews and their life-saving missions.
