Flames ripped through a house in St Leonards-on-Sea on Tuesday night, triggering a huge emergency response.

Blaze Erupts on Springfield Road

East Sussex Fire and Rescue swooped on a three-storey home on Springfield Road at 7:51pm on 11 March. Six fire engines, an aerial ladder, and a command unit tackled the fierce fire.

Firefighters, decked out in breathing gear, blasted flames in the first-floor lounge using hose and main jets. Luckily, the house was already evacuated before they arrived.

Roads Shut as Police Back Fire Crews

Police sealed off nearby streets and warned locals to keep windows and doors shut. Thankfully, all residents were safely accounted for.

Fire Under Control but Streets Remain Closed

By 9:40pm, fire bosses scaled back to two engines as the blaze was brought under control. Residents are urged to steer clear while crews finish their vital work.
